UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the second time this season, the New Hartford boys basketball team beat Proctor, this time winning 62-59 at the Arcuri Athletic Complex. The Spartans defeated the Raiders 58-46 at home December 14.
Leading 44-43 heading into the final quarter, the Spartans added to their lead thanks to a Mark Chanatry basket. But J'Von Evans hit a three pointer to tie the score at 46.
NH went back up three, but Kerion Barton cut that lead to one on a putback after an offensive rebound.
The Spartans took two separate four point leads, but again, the Raiders wouldn't be silenced, as Proctor took the lead on a three pointer by Barton.
The Raiders had the lead and the ball with 39.9 seconds left, but lost the ball on the inbound pass. Jordan Henderson would get fouled and not only tie the game at the free throw line, but put the Spartans on top to stay.
Henderson led all scorers with 23, while Chanatry added 22. Chris Simmons led the Raiders with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Naronn Harvey added 13 points and 7 steals.
