RFA comes back to beat rival Proctor


ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The oldest rivalry in New York State was renewed on Friday night and the game certainly did not dissapoint. RFA, the underdog going into the matchup, came back to beat Proctor 24-21 on a Dylan Thomas 31 yard field goal with eight seconds left in the game.

RFA got off ot the early lead after a Rich Stapleton nine yard touchdown run. In the second quarter, they jumped out to a big 14-0 lead on an Aaron Tennant one yard plunge.

The Raiders then riffled off 21 unanswered points in the second quarter and used big plays to do it.. Jordan Treen scored on a big 80 yard run, Maurice Peace capped off a long drive with a five yard score and Treen hooked up with Maurice Mills for a 73 yard bomb to give the Raiders a 21-14 lead at the half.

The scored stayed that way until the fourth quarter when Stapleton tied the game with a one yard touchdown. The with eight seconds left, Thomas became the hero when he booted the 31 yarder to win it.

RFA improves to 1-3 overall, Proctor drops to 2-2.
