CBA wins a defensive battle over RFA

By JASON POWLES

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - On a night where they honored a former coach, the RFA Black Knights did not live up to their legacy. The CBA Brothers beat the Knights 14-7 in a defensive struggle.

Over the years, defense has been a staple of RFA teams coached by Tom Hoke. On Friday, the school renamed the field Tom Hoke Field at RFA Stadium. Unfortunately for fans and for the Knights, the offense couldn't find a rhythm all night long. Give credit to a tough CBA defense. They held the Knights to 128 yards of total offense, most of them coming on a late touchdown drive to cut the lead to 14-7.

CBA got on the board in the second quarter on a 33 yard touchdown pass from Kyle Hamblin to Evan Adamo to make it 7-0. RFA's defense clamped down and blocked a field late in the quarter to keep the Brothers at bay. The Knights bend don't break defense finally gave up what would be the game winning score in the 4th quarter as Hamblin scored on a quarterback keeper.

CBA improves to 6-0 on the season while RFA drops to 3-3.
