Proctor and RFA teams ready for 2010 season

(WKTV) - The Proctor Raiders and RFA Black Knights are again the two local teams in Class AA, along with several Syracuse-area schools.

RFA Black Knights
Rome not in the playoffs sounds like a twisted nightmare, but for the RFA players it was all too real. This year, year two under head coach Ted Swavely, the Black Knights are in camp, a bit bigger, a bit faster, and perhaps a bit more intense.

The knights experience should be priceless, the running game will be anchored by veterans Jordan Henry and Rich Stapleton. Kyle Hash comes in at quarterback and saw some time last season.

Proctor Raiders
While the Raiders improved from a 1-8 season in 2008, last season's 3-5 finish still didn't get them to the post season. The glaring number was the 1-4 record in the division.

This season, a new attitude with some veteran players back to bring the team together. Running back Richard Pete is back and offensive threat Walkery Mills will keep defenses honest.

Maurice Mills and Jordan Treen are battling for the quarterback job. With experience on the line and on defense, there are just a few holes to fill. This season could come down to execution and discipline to determine just how good these raiders can be.They'll have a strong receiving corp. but the real deal is on the line - everyone is back.
