Girls Basketball: RFA advances to face C-NS

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA girls basketball team beat Nottingham 54-43 Tuesday night in the first round of the Section III Class AA tournament.  The #7 seeded Lady Knights will now advance to the quarterfinals to face #1 C-NS, Friday at 7 p.m.

With a 28-16 lead at halftime over Nottingham, it looked like RFA would cruise to a win, until a Nottingham run late in the third quarter made it 38-31 with eight minutes to go.

But the Knights responded, led by Jordan General, as they went on an 11-2 run.  General finished with a team high 13 points, as well as six steals, four assists and three rebounds.  Lindsey Gates added 12 points and five rebounds.
