ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA boys soccer team came back from a two goal deficit, but fell short against C-NS, 3-2 in overtime Monday. Bryan Sibble hit the game winning goal with 3:57 to go in the first ten minute golden goal session.
The North Stars (9-2-1) scored just 2:35 into the game, on a goal by Darren Cooper, then added to their lead about six minutes later on another Cooper goal, this time assisted by Logan Roberts.
But three minutes after C-NS took the 2-0 lead, the Black Knights finally got on the board, on a blooper by Jacob Pohl.
The score stayed 2-1 until about the midway point of the second half. That's when RFA (6-5) even up the odds on a goal by Michael Mellace, assisted by Sawyer Razy.
The Black Knights seemed to have the momentum going into the extra period, until C-NS struck the decisve blow.
