Little Falls Girls Smash Sauquoit, Clinton Up Next

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Undefeated Little Falls had no trouble staying that way on Monday, blowing out Sauquoit Valley 60-30 in the opening round of the Lady Mounties' holiday tournament.

Little Falls, ranked No. 6 in the state in Class C, was in command from the start, leading 24-7 after the first quarter.  Jenna Becker led the way with 15 points, Sara Helmer had 14 and Sue Schoff added 11 and seven rebounds.  Renee Whelan led Sauquoit Valley with a game-high 17 points including five 3's.

In the early game, Riley Spellman's 13 points led Clinton to a 53-31 dismissal of Waterville.

Little Falls (8-0) will take on Clinton (7-2) in the championship game Tuesday at 8:00; Sauquoit Valley (1-8) faces Waterville (4-4) in the consolation game at 6:00.
