SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The two time Class C state finalist girls soccer team from Sauquoit Valley racked up another win Monday, 8-1 over Canastota. Half of the Lady Indians' eight goals were netted by junior Elisa Marchione, while keeper Vanessa Jecko even added her first ever goal as well as picking up two assists.
Sauquoit (3-0) led just 2-0 at halftime, with Marchione accounting for both scores. The first came less than three minutes in and less than a minute after she attempted a shot that went off the cross bar and into the football upright.
The second goal by Marchione came thirty minutes later, with about six and a half minutes to go until halftime.
Maeline Hollenbeck, Alex Benn and Brittney Schultz had the Indians' other three goals, while Nicky Burline added three assists.
