Sauquoit falls to Ludden in C-1 final

CICERO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Sauquoit Valley softball team's rally fell short Wednesday night as Bishop Ludden beat the Lady Indians 7-5 in the Section III Class C-1 final at the Gillette Road Complex.  Sauquoit finishes their season at 16-5.

The Gaelic Knights took an early lead on an RBI triple by Kayla Kibling scoring Abby Wiegand in the first inning.  They got three more runs in the third inning, two on a double hit by Jessica Sciore and another on an error after a fielder's choice by Aubrie Murray allowed Sciore to score.

Ludden built a 7-1 lead, but Sauquoit scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull within two, though that would be as close as they would come.

Korey Kibling struck out 14 batters on the mound for Ludden.
