WATERVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - With a fully healthy lineup for a change, the Waterville girls basketball team overcame a slow start to blow out Fabius-Pompey 49-21 in the Section III, Class C-2 quarterfinals on Tuesday.
With both offenses struggling out of the gate, third-seeded Waterville turned to Katie Buell, who scored all eight of her points in the quarter to personally out-score sixth-seeded Fabius-Pompey 8-7. The Lady Indians led 13-7 and never looked back.
Waterville, now 15-6, advances to play No. 2 seed Bishop Grimes in the semifinals at a place, date and time to be determined Wednesday morning.
The Lady Indians had 10 out of 13 players score in the game, led by Jenna Fallon's 14.
Fabius-Pompey finishes the season 8-13.
