SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Sauquoit Valley girls soccer team beat Waterville as well as the rust of not playing in a week and a half, winning 1-0 Saturday. The Lady Indians, state runners up last year, improved their perfect record in 2010 to 6-0.
Former NEWSChannel 2 Athlete of the Week Sierra Kiss had the lone Sauquoit goal, in the first half. Keeper Vanessa Jeckl had seven saves in the Lady Indians net.
Waterville's Phebe Lamonte had 5 saves for the Lady Indians, who fell to 4-5.
Sauquoit hadn't played since a win a week and a half earlier, also over Waterville. The Lady Indians will host 4-4 Morrisville-Eaton Monday at 4:30 p.m.
