NEWPORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Their amazing year continues. The West Canada Valley Indians beat Dolgeville 40-0 to win the Class D East title and snap a 22-year losing streak to the Blue Devils.
The Indians started off the scoring with a Ryan Grogan's 37-yard nterception for a touchdown to make it 7-0. Jack Minasi would then score on runs of 2 and 25 yards to give West Canada a 20-0 first quarter lead.
Minasi would go down with an ankle injury and not return but his teammate just kept on rolling as Ryan Moody would connect with Grogan for a 30 yard touchdown pass to give the Indians a 27-0 halftime lead.
Grogan had a total of three touchdowns, Minasi added two. West Canada finishes the regular season 7-0. Dolgeville is 5-2.
