West Canada opens new year with win

SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The West Canada Valley boys basketball team played and won their first game of the post Jared Suderley era, 57-51 Thursday night at Sauquoit Valley.  Xavier Maxwell had a game high 28 points for WCV, along with 5 assists.  Kyle Humphrey also added 18 points.  The two seniors also combined to hit 10 three pointers.

West Canada led it by as many as 17 points, with a 36-29 lead at halftime, but Sauquoit came back and made it interesting in the final minute.  Mike Lallier led the Valley with 14 points, while Aaron Lopicollo added 11 and David Evans had 9.  Sauquoit fell to 0-2 on the year.
