Westmoreland Boys Blown Out By Onondaga In SemisCHITTENANGO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Defending Section III, Class C-1 champion Onondaga scored 44 of its 57 points in the first and third quarters on Friday to wipe out Westmoreland 57-40 in the semifinals at Chittenango. Onondaga, the No. 9 seed in this year's tournament, jumped all over the fifth-seeded Bulldogs in the first quarter, racing out to a 20-3 lead. But the Tigers only scored five points in the second, and Westmoreland cut the deficit to 25-15 at halftime. The Bulldogs' defensive momentum did not carry into the third quarter, however, as Onondaga scored 24 points in the period to lead 49-32 going into the fourth. Onondaga, now 14-9, advances to play No. 2 seed in the championship next Saturday at Manley Field House. Westmoreland ends the season 17-6. Ted Zabel led the Tigers with 16 points and Brad Emerson and Zach Holbrook each added 14. Kyle Eisnor was the lone Bulldog to score in double-digits with 11.
