Westmoreland falls short in C-1 title game


UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Westmoreland Bulldogs showed alot of heart coming back from a 17 point deficit but Tully was able to hang on to win 42-37 to take the Class C-1 title on Friday night at The Aud.

In front of a great crowd what welcomed playoff basketball back to the Utica Memorial Auditorium, the Bulldogs made a valiant comeback on a 17-2 run. They even had the game tied at 37 with under two minutes to go. However, with Tully up one, Tyler Redington drained his only three pointer of the game to ice it for the Black Knights.

Tully was led by MVP Ben Hughes who had 15 points. Marcus Warner chipped in 10 points. Westmoreland was led by Jason Colburn's 15 points. The Bulldogs finish the season at 17-4.

Tully will face C-2 champion West Canada on Tuesday 7pm at Chittenango high school in the C-1/C-2 final.
