Westmo wins Class D East, blows out Dolgeville

DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - In what was expected to be a close game to close out the regular season, Westmoreland won the Class D East title with a 33-0 blowout win at Dolgeville.  The Bulldogs took a 14-0 lead to halftime and while they had some issues with penalties, still rolled in the second half.

Both teams came in a perfect 6-0, with only one close game played by either team, both against West Canada Valley.

The Bulldogs took the opening drive and scored on a one yard touchdown by QB Zach Green.  The scored stayed that way until the second quarter, when Westmo's defense recovered a fumble by Jared Frederick at the three yard line.  Ryan Murling went the rest of the way, giving the Bulldogs a two score lead.

Green put the game out of reach late in the third quarter, on a 26 yard TD run that gave Westmo a 20-0 lead.

The Bulldogs added two more scores, on an 83 yard TD run by Murling and a 33 yard interception return by Tyler Barnes.

Murling finished with 124 yards on 14 carries along with his two scores.  He also had a fumble recovery and four tackles on defense.  Green had 83 yards on 17 carries and his two TDs, as well as seven tackles on defense.
