New Hartford downs Whitesboro 9-3 in baseball

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Spartans bounced back from a road loss to Camden by beating rival Whitesboro 9-3 at Corr Field on Friday.

The Spartans, first place in the Tri Valley east, trailed 1-0 in the first after a Matt Engler RBI single. However, they took the lead in the bottom of the inning on a Mike Doyle 2 RBI double. Chandler Evans, who gave up just two earned runs, was 3-4 at the plate with two RBI's. The Spartans added three in the third and three in the fifth.

New Hartford is now 14-6 over all, 7-4 in the league. Whitesboro is 5-6 in the league 6-11 overall.
