WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Coming off its first loss of the season in its regular-season finale, Whitesboro opened the postseason in fine fashion Friday with a 40-0 rout of Jamesville-DeWitt in the Section III, Class A quarterfinals.

The third-seeded and 20th-ranked Warriors, which won at sixth-seeded J-D 28-7 in Week 2, only led 6-0 after the first quarter but broke the game open with 20 points in the second.

Whitesboro (7-1) will face No. 2 seed Fulton (7-1) in the semifinals at a neutral site, date and time to be announced on Sunday.  Fulton beat No. 7 Carthage in its quarterfinal game.

Evan Manna ran in two 1-yard touchdowns, Kevin Flanagan rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown and Alex Rukavena turned one of the defense's three takeaways into a 55-yard interception return.
