J-D dominates Whitesboro

By MIKE LEVIN

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Although they came into Friday's Class A Section III Championship with identical 16-2 records, #1 seeded Jamesville-Dewitt dominated #2 Whitesboro, winning 6-1.  The bright spot for the Warriors was keeper Rachel Edgin, who was named the Class-A All-Tourney keeper before the game, and had 14 saves.

The Lady Rams wasted little time scoring, as Jessica Holmes scored just four minutes into the game on a breakaway.  The Devereau sisters combined for J-D's next goal, as Madeline set up Tessa on a corner kick.

Holmes then scored again to give the Lady Rams a 3-0 lead at halftime and they never looked back.  Tessa Devereau had two goals and an assist for J-D.

Ashley Williams scored the lone goal for Whitesboro, who finished their season at 16-3.
