WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Whitesboro Warriors beat the New Hartford Spartans 26-6 on Friday night. Perhaps some felt that was expected given the way both teams have played this season.
What was not expected was the brawl that broke out just seconds before the end of the first half. With under a minute left, Warriors quarterback Bodhi Forbes scrambled and found Joel Jakubowicz wide open for a touchdown. However, the score didn't count as there was a penalty on the play against Whitesboro.
Before that could be assesed, a brawl broke out on the field. A player from each team was ejected but not before both benches spewed out onto the field with officals and coaches from both sides yanking players off each other. It took several minutes to resume order.
As for the game itself, Nick Carzo led the way with 193 yards rushing and two touchdowns while Matt Felitto rushed for 138 yards and two scores. With the win Whitesboro improves to 4-2, 3-1 in the Class A National.
New Hartford did score late in the game on a David Han pass to Cooper Brown. The Spartans drop to 0-6 on the season.
