H.S. Hockey:Spartans skate past Whitesboro

WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Spartans exploded for four goals in the third period en route to a 5-1 win over rival Whitesboro on Thursday night. The Spartans gain two crucial points in the Division II standings.
New Hartford had taken a 1-0 lead in the second period on a slapper outside the blue line by Conrad Stafford. The Warriors tied it up with eleven seconds left in the period on a goal by Kirk Chevier.
However, the Spartans took over in the third getting two goals from Jack Vitagliano and a goal apiece from Joe Holmes and Christian Nimey. Tyler Hansen stopped 26 shots for New Hartford.
The Spartans improved to 3-8-2, while Whitesboro drops to 2-10-1.
