H.S. Football:Whitesboro Warriors advance to state semi-finalsSYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Whitesboro Warriors are going back to the state semi-finals after beating Maine Endwell 40-14 Friday night at ES-M in the regionals. The Warriors and Spartans battled back and forth trading leads until Mike Sullivan's 30 yard score with 1:19 to go in the first half put Whitesboro on top for good. The Warriors then forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, setting up another scoring opportunity before the break. Whitesboro QB Bradee Holtslag, who was about to be sacked, let go at the perfect moment and connected on a 26 yard touchdown with Mike Bunal, who made an incredible one handed grab to haul in the score. Sullivan rushed for 125 yards and two scores on the game and also caught a touchdown pass in the third quarter. Hotslag threw for three touchdowns, completing eight of twelve passes for 86 yards and also ran for a score in late in the game. The Warriors, after traling 14-13 in the second quarter, shut out Maine Endwell in the second half. |
