In 2003, the Richfield Springs girls basketball team beat Sackets Harbor for the Section III, Class D title.  On Saturday, Sackets got revenge, beating the Lady Indians 49-36 at Onondaga Community College.

The game started out as a shootout, with the score tied 17-17 after the 1st quarter.  The pace then slowed considerably, as Sackets, the No. 1 seed, took a 32-25 lead at the half and stretched it by one point during an ugly 3rd quarter to lead 39-31 going into the 4th.  The Lady Patriots opened the final quarter with a 10-0 run stretching over six and a half minutes to put it away.

Courtney Allen led Sackets with a game-high 19 points, while Katie Moshier led Richfield, the No. 3 seed, with nine.

Sackets is now 23-1 and advances to the state Class D tournament.  Richfield ends the season 17-6.
