Remsen native Erin Hamlin posted the top U.S. result at the 40th Luge World Championships in Germany on January 25th. She finshed eighth. "I thought that my two runs were pretty solid, I've never really been successful on this track," remarked Hamlin, who raced to a total time of 1:27.015.

"The first one was not as fast as I would have liked, but I'm happy with a top-10 finish because I had two decent runs."

Hamlin's teammates, Julia Clukey and Megan Sweeney were 12th and 16th, respectively.
