15 games of American Legion Baseball to play at Murnane Field

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Do you want to see all New York State American Legion Baseball tournaments held in Utica? Well, the Utica Adrean Post certainly does.

The organization held a press conference Wednesday at Notre Dame High School to discuss the legion championships. It will be the Utica Adrean Post's second year hosting the games, which organizers say is a way to unite the community.

Tournament Director Mike Macchione says American Legion Baseball is the oldest, organized baseball program in America.

"It's history is rich, not only in current effort they put out, but you can look and find 70% of major leaguers in the Hall of Fame have marched through American Legion Baseball," Macchione said.

The American Legion Championships are held in Utica between July 31 and August 4. A total of 15 games will be played at Murnane Field.
