YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (WKTV) - The Utica Brewers won their first two games in the National Amateur Baseball Federation College Division Regional Tournament on Saturday, and one more victory Sunday will give them a berth to the World Series in Toledo.

Utica, a wood-bat summer team made up of college players from across the country, defeated Ohio in the first game 12-1 and Youngstown in the second game 6-5.  The tournament was originally a double-elimination format but weather problems have forced changes.  If Utica loses on Sunday, the tournament will turn to tiebreakers in order to move forward.

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs were given no chance in their New York Collegiate Baseball League playoff opener at rival Amsterdam on Saturday as the Mohawks won Game 1 of the best-of-three series 11-0.  Little Falls had only eight position players available in the game.

Little Falls, another wood-bat collegiate team like Utica, will try to even the series Sunday at home at Veterans Memorial Park starting at 5:05.
