UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Comets announced their much anticipated debut on Utica Memorial Auditorium ice, Wednesday.

The team announced that their home opener will take place on Wednesday, October 23, as part of the team's inaugural week.

The Comets will open their first season in the AHL on the road before coming home to play three games in four nights at the Aud.

The big week will start with the opener on the 23rd, and continue with back-to-back games on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26.

While game dates have been set, opponents, start times, and the full promotional schedule will be announced after the complete 2013-2014 AHL schedule is released on August 22.

October 23, 2013 will mark the first time that the Aud has housed an AHL game since April 10,1993.

On that day, the current Canucks' affiliate will try to earn the Aud's first AHL win, since the Utica Devils dropped their final game to the former Vancouver affiliate, the Hamilton Canucks, 20 years ago.
