NB3 Foundation Challenge big success despite Tiger Woods withdrawal

VERNON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Notah Begay III had a big smile on his face all day on Wednesday despite the fact that one of his best friends, former college roommate Tiger Woods had to pull out of his annual fundraiser at the last minute because of back problems.

Begay played along with eleven other members of the PGA Tour in his 6th annual NB3 Foundation Challenge.

The event raised money to help fight childhood obesity and Type II Diabetes among native american children.

Notable player included former number on players in the world Lee Westwood of England and Ricky Fowler from California.

Oneida Indian Nation CEO Ray Halbritter says between 3,000 and 5,000 fans were expected to attend the one day event.

In just six years, the NB3 Foundation Challenge has raised a total of more than $4,000,000.
