WHISTLER, B.C. - Remsen's Erin Hamlin finished sixth at the Women's Singles event at the Luge World Championships from the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics.  Hamlin, who won it all when the event was held at Lake Placid in 2009, was the top American finisher.

The two-time Olympian was fifth after the first run, then was the fifth to last to go on the second run.  After the second run, Hamlin was in second, but was passed by each of the next four to go.

Natalie Geisenberger of Germany was the gold medal winner, with teammate Tajana Hufner the silver and Canada's Alex Gough the bronze in her home country.

The Luge World Cup season continues next weekend, in Lake Placid, site of Hamlin's World Championship win in '09.
