Woods to return to area to play in NB3 Challenge

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Tiger Woods is coming back to Central New York to play at Turning Stone's Atunyote Course.

The NB3 Challenge field was announced Monday morning. It will mark the fifth time Woods will take part in the charity event put on by his former college roommate at Stanford, Notah Begay III.

In addition to Woods, 2013 PGA champ Jason Dugner, Jimmy Walker, Jonas Blixt, Angel Cabrera and Louis Oosthuizen, as well as Begay, will play.

"Bringing the level of golfers that Notah is able to bring makes it one of the top events in golf in the country," said Ray Halbritter of the Oneida Indian Nation. "You don't have the largest field, but you have the top of the field."

Begay is the only full-blooded American Indian to play on the PGA tour. He has raised more than $4 million in seven years to help battle health issues facing American Indians.
