Syracuse Orange hit the court in Cleveland Friday night

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKTV) - After an exciting first round of college basketball Thursday, the much anticipated wait for Syracuse fans is over.

Late Friday, the Orange will play their first round game in Cleveland.

It's been five days since selection Sunday, when it was announced that the Orange would play Indiana State. The Orange say they are focused on making a run at this year's National Championship. In order to do that, they will need to play the best basketball they have played all year and have lots of support. Plenty of that support should be in Cleveland this weekend.

The Orange fans always travel well, and being just about a six hour ride from Central New York, the players figure to see lots of orange.

The man in charge of making that happen is Ryan Mcnaughton, a Syracuse University alum in charge of a local group and in charge of organizing the trips of thousands of fans.

"I know we are going to have a couple hundred," Mcnaughton said of the SU crowds expected. "There are about 1,200 alumni from Syracuse who live in this region, so we have had an awful lot of interest in tickets. Even those who do not have tickets will come down and watch the game with us for our viewing party, so the interest is there. There will be a lot of orange in this building, I promise, on Friday night."

The Orange and Indiana State will play the last game of the day Friday at night at 9:55.
