SU team headed home after disappointing loss

By WKTV News

SYRACUSE, N.Y.(WKTV) - The Syracuse Orange are headed home after a disappointing loss in Cleveland.

NewsChannel 2's Pat Bailey has been following the team in Cleveland and got to catch up with the team after their loss.

This year, he says, it was turnovers that did the Orange in: 18 of them.

Freshman Guard Dion Walters said, "We gave the game away, I feel with turnovers we shouldn't make. Especially at the end of the game with a situation like when we have the momentum.

Other players couldn't hide their disappointment.

Junior Guard Scoop Jardine said, "We had the game won, and it sucks because we knew we had that one, and we let it slip away."

As hard as it is for Syracuse fans to look ahead to next year, the team does have a bright future.

They lose only one senior, Rick Jackson, but return several starters including two freshmen who logged a lot of minutes of play time this year.
