UCP students run basketball drills with SU Assistant Coach

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Students at Upstate Cerebral Palsy in the city of Utica got to spend part of their Monday having fun and getting exercise with somewhat of a superstar college coach.

Syracuse University Assistant Basketball Coach Adrian Autry met with excited students at UCP and lent a hand of support to the Cerebral Palsy Charity Golf Invitational.

The students jumped at the chance to run drills with Autry.

"It's great for them to come and interact with the kids," said Jason Haberek of Upstate Cerebral Palsy. "And it's kind of rewarding, you get to see by the expression on their faces and their smiles and when they leave here, they leave with a sense of pride that they instilled self-esteem and self respect in these kids that worked hard here."

Proceeds from the Charity Golf Invitational benefits children receiving services at Upstate Cerebral Palsy.
