Tornado touching down in Kirkland
KIRKLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Video is often the best evidence when determining whether a tornado did touch down, and a couple of local viewers have proof that a twister did tear through the Town of Kirkland on Tuesday. This video was sent to us by Bob Verdon and Ryan Decker. The National Weather Service confirmed overnight Wednesday that a weak, EF0 tornado did touch down in Kirkland along Kellogg Road. It said several large hardwood trees were either uprooted or snapped. The downed trees on this property were pointing towards the west to southwest, while the storm motion and most other damage were oriented towards the east. Debris needs to be pointing in various directions to show that a tornado did touch down.
