A nice start to today with mostly sunny skies and temperatures quickly rising into the 50s. Sunshine will be around for the morning into the early afternoon before clouds increase ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will warm up into the mid to upper 60s.  Then, things begin to change significantly. A strong cold front will plow through the area this afternoon and evening, primarily after 2pm.  It will bring a period of rain and thunderstorms with small hail and gusty winds. Rain will taper off to just a few showers tonight and skies will become partly cloudy. 

Sunday will start off with partly sunny skies but  numerous clouds and showers will develop Sunday afternoon. This, coupled with a chilly air mass will keep our highs in the 50s. In some cases, primarily in the Adirondacks, highs may only be in the 40s on Sunday! Monday will follow a similar trend, however a little bit less in the way of showers is expected.

Things begin to change again on Tuesday. As the storm system responsible for the dreary Sunday and Monday pulls away, a transition to more seasonable conditions is expected. We'll warm up a bit each day from Tuesday into Thursday. It is possible that we warm up significantly toward next weekend, but that remains to be seen. Stay tuned.
