Blood drive to be held in Utica for Hurricane Sandy victims

By WKTV News

The American Red Cross has issued a call for blood donations in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The storm affected blood collections throughout the northeast, resulting in a loss of 8,000 blood and platelet donations.

On Wednesday, November 21, Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) will hold a blood drive from 10am to 4pm in Allen-Calder Conference Rooms 3, 4 & 5 at the St. Luke’s Campus, 1656 Champlin Avenue, Utica.

Please enter through Allen-Calder Entrance 7 at the back of the campus.

More than 38,000 blood donations are needed each day in the United States, but only 38 percent of the population is eligible to donate. Just one donor can help save or sustain up to three lives.
