Frankfort Fire Department busy pumping flooded cellars

By LEXIE O'CONNOR

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Frankfort Fire Department is still busy pumping residents flooded cellars Thursday after responding to calls all night.

"I got here last night roughly around quarter of eight," says Frankfort firefighter Steve Smith Jr. "I've been here ever since."

But just when they thought their long night was slowing down, Frankfort Fire received a call for a fire.

"We had a fire at 12:58 pm. this afternoon, a working house fire," says Frankfort Fire Dept. First Ast. "We made a quick knock down with the help of Ilion."

Because many firefighters were at the firehouse they were able to get to the fire quickly and control it, leaving minimal damage to the house.

Frankfort Fire Department's list of addresses to help out keeps growing as calls of flooded cellars continue to come in.
