Lyle Bosley
Lyle Bosley was a well-known announcer on WKTV as well as providing weather reports to Central New York Viewers. During his tenure at WKTV, he interviewed many famous figures, including Imogene Coca and Chubby Checkers. Later, he was the host of High School Quiz, a local show on WKTV in the 1960's and 1970's. This game show was designed to highlight high school students' knowledge in the 1960's and 1970's. Many viewers thought he was also the face behind the makeup for Bozo the Clown, but that role was played by colleague Ed Whitaker. In the 1970's and 1980's, Lyle was a familiar face as weeknight weatherman for WKTV News. His deep smooth voice was often heard on commercials by request of WKTV clients. He also served as a part-time director for commercials and productions such as WKTV's Annual Christmas Choirs Show. Lyle retired from WKTV in the late 1980's at over 70 years old. Lyle passed away in 1997 at the age of 84. Most Popular |
