On Saturday August 14th, Central New York Roller Derby (CNYRD) will host a flat track roller derby double header at the JFK Civic Arena in Rome, NY. Come see two bouts for the price of one! The first bout of the evening will be a men’s roller derby faceoff between The Connecticut Death Quads and Central New York’s own Quadfathers. After the men, women’s roller derby will take the track for CNYRD’s Utica Clubbers versus The Yankee Brutals (CT Rollergirls). The Clubbers are still high from their unexpected take down of Lehigh Valley on July 31st and are looking for another upset against Connecticut.
The JFK Civic Arena is at 500 W. Embargo St., Rome, NY. The doors open at 4:00 pm and the men’s bout will begin at 5:00 pm. The women’s bout begins at 7:00 pm. The cost of admission is $12 at the door for adults. There is free admission for children under 10 and adults over 65. Advance tickets may be purchased for $10 each at www.ticketderby.com, at the Tramontaine Cafe and Café Domenico in Utica, and at Bill’s Variety in Rome.
CNYRD is a proud supporter of the YWCA domestic violence shelter. One dollar of each ticket sold at the door during 2010 home bouts will be donated to benefit the shelter, which we believe furthers our mission of women’s empowerment.
