I sighted the wind mill construction site from the Kane Mountain Fire Tower. I could watch the crane at work over one of the pedestals. They can be seen better through binoculars toward the west. Using a ruler on a map I came up with 20 miles distance between Kane and Barto hill in a straight line. The haze was so bad that I had to experiment with different camera settings. I really should get a DSLR camera so I can use better lenses to zoom in on places like this.
Up there I could see the ridge from Topnotch all the way to Barto Hill. On the east side of the ridge I saw several farms. The huge transmission lines paralleling the valley could also be seen. That ridge will soon be dominated by these windmills. The 1065 foot Fairfield tower still dominates the background to the left of these photos.
