September 24 2010 A fleet of pre- and depression era Ford sedans and open touring cars was sighted Saturday in New Hartford in the parking lot shared by Danella Photo, Seneca Liquors and the Killabrew Saloon. Noting the current economic climate and similarity of some of the cars to gangster-prohibition era cars used in daring stickups of the day, a plotted spate of bank robberies was feared to be afoot. Those fears were put to rest when it was realized that the sighting was late Saturday afternoon..and no area banks were open for robbing . All speculation about the appearance of the Fords ended by one driver who explained that the fleet was assembled for and was en route to a local wedding. .And, as far as speculation to a robbery being “AFOOT,”... What silly thing for anyone to think !. Heck, nobody was "afoot" .all these folks had RIDES !! Photos and narration by Tom Loughlin Jr for permissions contact telsport@tgmail.com
