Another deep hike into Herkimer County brought me to this fire tower on Woodhull Mountain. It's located on the northeastern end of Woodhull Lake or within 10 miles south of Old Forge deep in the wilderness. The mountain is almost surrounded by private land. The only way in is from the west to avoid the private land. I followed an old rail bed from Mckeever 5 miles to a stream with a wooden bridge. From there is a 2.5 mile foot path to the summit. Bald Mountain and it's tower can be seen to the north between two mountains. Woodhull Lake can be seen to the south and west.
