Mount Marcy is the highest peak in New York at an elevation of 5344. As seen in the pictures the high peaks are covered in snow. I had quite a trip up today. It's an almost continuous climb from Marcy Dam to the summit (5miles). The elevation gain was over 3000 Ft. When I approached the dome of the mountain I was at aww wondering if I could handle it. It's a towering mound of rock. Once past the tree line the exposure to the to the wind chill is brutal and getting dangerous as winter approaches. From the top I could look over all the high peaks. In picture one is Haystack, picture two is the McIntyre Ridge, and picture three shows the summit of Mount Marcy.
