Azure Mountain is located north beyond Paul Smiths on a backroad called Keese Mills Rd. that becomes Blue Mountain Rd. Paul Smiths is beyond Saranac Lake on route 30. If your not familiar with Saranac Lake all I can say is that it's far beyond Old Forge and Blue Mountain Lake. I would say almost 50 miles beyound Blue Mountain Lake using route 30 and 3.
This was my 23rd fire tower. I know of 34 standing fire towers in the ADK. Seven of them are entirely inaccessible to even approach. I know that there are 23 known ones listed for the fire tower challenge, but I found out about Loon Lake and Stillwater were being prepared for the public. I also have targeted two towers in museums. Those would be in Blue Mountain Lake and Elizabeth Town. I would like to finish this before the end of the year if the raging factory I work at dosen't stop me conducting inventory.
