A unique natural occurance in Chestnut Ridge Park (south of Buffalo) creates one of the most unusual waterfalls in the world. A natural gas leak through the Hanover Shale (similar to the gas companies want to extract from the Marcellus Shale in our area)creates a beautiful flame in a small grotto right behind the falls. The freezing temperatures help create ice formations around this grotto giving a perfect visual for 'Fire and Ice'.
