My child collecting sap

First Taste of the Syrup Season

This is a picture captured at the right moment, of my three year old daughter helping Daddy 'collect sap' for the maple syrup season. Twenty-five trees were tapped on Sunday night(March 13th) and sap collected Tuesday evening with a total of 65 gallons. It takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. Here's hoping the weather holds out with some cold nights and warm days.
