On 4/28/11 I awoke to find my driveway,a part of the creek that ran under Crooked Brook rd. The culvert appeared to be inadequate, as chunks, and slabs of the road washed into the creek; leaving a 10'+ sinkhole in the road, in front of my driveway. As I ran back to get my video camera, the first of the Town Board Council members, Charlie Ellsworth, had arrived on scene to view the damage. I had to get to work -co-worker Gina Olivadese, bravely came out to get me; picking me up from a mile away, where I could finely cross onto Crooked Brook rd. The Town's Highway Dept, was quick to act that morning, as barrels were immediately set up, preventing possible accidents, or even death. We sincerely appreciate the dedication that Highway Superintendent Sam Arcuri and his crew showed us that morning. They have a big job ahead of them and will need the support of the town. Hats off to you Sam, your crew, the volunteers, and to all those Town Board members that took the time to come over, showing us their support.
