My son and I were watching the Today Show yesterday morning when
it was interrepted by a news story telling of the shooting of a young Sheriff in the Utica area, a schocking story. My son is 21 years old and has Down syndrome. He has a universal devotion to the Police and Fire Department's. As the story unfolded he started to cry upon hearing that the young Sheriff had an 18 month old child and a wife about to have another baby. We talked about Sheriff Wyman's service to his community and Chris left the room. An hour or so passed by and a friend stopped in to take Chris to lunch. When she arrived she asked,"What is the Memorial in the front yard?" I had no idea and along with Chris, went out side to see what she was talking about. Chris had made a little shrine for Sheriff Wyman. Some people just do what is in their nature. We are blessed to have such a son!

I watched the service yesterday and I want you to know my heart goes out to you. What a wonderful tribute to our God through all of your lives. There were tears in my eyes but appreciation in your true worship of God. I know He will see you through.

Attended the 2011 Special Olympics Summer Games in Utica last night at Utica College. A moment of silence was observed for Deputy Kurt Wyman. You could hear a pin drop. There were 1,500 athletes and their families, friends and coaches attending.

A moving memorial and I must say I see this sweet nature in the rest of the family that I have met, so it is no wonder you have such a wonderful son.

The picture contains a crucifix, flag and a feather. It is a little difficult to see in the picture.
