When our son, Patrick, was working on his motorcycle in the barn a hummingbird flew in and got stuck up in the rafters. As the day went on, Sunday June 26th, the bird became more distressed and obviously unable to find its way out. After numerous attempts Patrick was able to catch her in a net removing her very carefully. She was so tired at that point she sat quite still in his hand. He said it felt as if she had no weight at all, so incredibly small! He then brought her over to one of our feeders, she drank for a bit, rested then just flew away. Awesome to report, on Monday morning a female hummingbird missing some tail feathers (as he said some were lost) was at the feeder for breakfast!!!
