This is more video of a severe thunderstorm with rotation which traveled across western Oneida County at about 1:15pm on Tuesday July 26th, 2011, and affected areas of Clinton and Franklin Springs in the town of Kirkland with tornadoes and a microburst. I recorded this while traveling eastbound on route 5 in the town of Vernon after it got too close while I was parked at the Utica-Rome Speedway. The storm had initially been moving at about 40mph but seemed to pick up speed and intensity as it proceeded east. I made one more stop at a roadside diner parking lot on route 5 at the Vernon-Westmoreland town line where the storm caught up to me and starting producing a funnel. I then headed for the town of Kirkland where I gathered more video on another camera of multiple funnels on Campus Rd. near Hamilton College. I'm currently working on posting that particular video as well.
Chased by the storm
